"NSS Unit of the Bhaskar Degree College organized Four Days Inter-College online Yoga competition on the occasion of 6th International Yoga Day, 2020. The event was conducted under the supreme guidance of worthy principal of the college Dr. S.K. Magotra. The total four competitions were organized out of which two were Inter- College i.e. Essay writing competition and picture collage of different yoga asanas and another two were Intra- College competitions i.e. poster making and Video of yoga asanas. On 18-06-2020, an Intra-College poster making competition was organized on the theme “Yoga is Life” and “Yoga with family” as per the guidelines of Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, in which NSS Volunteers participated pretty enthusiastically by presenting the benefits of yoga in creative and beautiful form. Also as per the guidelines of Ministry of Ayush, Govt of India, NSS Volunteers of the college participated in online quiz competitions organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs .After that on 19-06-2020, another Intra-College online competition of creative yoga videos was organized, in which around twenty NSS Volunteers participated. On 20-06-2020, an Intra –College essay writing competition on “Yoga- A strong force to fight against Covid-19”was organized, in which ample of participants from different colleges participated including MIER College of Education Jammu, KC College of Education, Jammu, GCW Udhampur and Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur. And on the final concluding day i.e. on 21-06-2020, a yoga collage asanas challenge was organised online, in which participants across the country participated including Chennai, Chandigarh, U.P., MAM PG college, Jammu, GDC Kathua, GDC RS Pura, Jammu and GCW Udhampur. The International day of Yoga aims to rise awareness around the world , regarding myriad of benefits of practicing art of yoga. While addressing on this yoga day our worthy PM Narendra Modi also said, “ Yoga is an invaluable gift from our ancient tradition. Yoga embodies unity of mind and body, thought and action , a holistic approach, that is valuable for our health and well being. Yoga is not just about exercise, it is a way to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature.” The event was organized by Assistant Prof. Pinaki Bakshi, NSS Programme Officer and co-ordinated by Assistant Prof. Pooja Rani, HOD Geography and Assistant Prof. Rakesh Thakur, HOD Computer Sciences."
"NSS Unit of the Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur organized Intra-College Poster Making competition on 14-06-2020, in order to celebrate World Blood Donor Day. The event was organized under the guidance and support of principal of the college Dr. S.K. Magotra. The NSS Volunteers of the college participated with great zeal and tried to promote the message of saving others' lives through their poster making talent. Every year, on this day the world celebrates World Blood Donor Day (WBDD), in order to spread awareness about donating the blood and saving the lives. The event serves to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and to thank blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood. The event was conducted under the supervision of NSS Programme Officer of the college Lect. Pinaki Bakshi."
"Doing something for society is good, but doing something for the nation needs a great heart too." Two NSS Volunteers of the college Suhasani and Shilpa Sharma of VI and IV Semester stitched face protection cloth masks in order to distribute them among the needy and nearby and also to spread awareness among the masses about the deadly contact of Coronavirus disease. The volunteers felt their duty to contribute their best even during this global pandemic for the society as much as they can."
"NSS Volunteers of the college celebrated "World Environment Day" 2020 with great zeal by planting at their homes, so as to convey the message to save and love the planet . The volunteers also initiated the slogan for this summer "Beat the heat, plant more trees."
Bhaskar Degree College, Udhampur celebrated National Service Scheme (NSS) Foundation Day on 24-September-2022 with enthusiasm and fervor. The event commenced with the lighting of lamps by DDC Member Panchari Mongri, Jasvir Singh, principal of college Dr. S.K. Magotra, Ashok Khajuria, MD, Bhartiya Group of Institutions, Vice Principal Prof. Bindu Salaria, Prof. Vijeta Kumari, Prof. Narinder Singh, Prof. Savita Sambyal and Prof. Hema Dutt. On the occasion a formal welcome address was given by the principal of the college, Dr. S.K Magotra. All faculty members and students were present to make the occasion graceful. The event was conducted under the supervision of NSS PO Prof. Narinder Singh and hosted by Prof. Hema Dutt. The occasion was filled with vibrant performances of college students. The cultural programs staged including songs, Dogri Folk dance and Punjabi Folk dance performances. The event was concluded with the vote of thanks speech by NSS PO Prof Narinder Singh.
"Harshita, N.S.S Volunteer of the College brought laurels to the College by participating in 23rd National Youth Festival 2020 held at Lucknow, U.P from 12th Jan, 2020 to 15th Jan, 2020 and attended Suvichar and National Youth Convention Programme organised by National Service Scheme. This is another feather on the College that she was the only NSS volunteer to participate in the prestigious camp from Udhampur District."

Five days yoga camp was organised in the Bhaskar Degree College, Udhampur from 13TH to 17TH September at college playground from 9:00 Am to 10:00 AM daily. NSS Unit of the college took the initiative to organize yoga camp for all the students in addition to other sports activities under the presence of Principal of the college, Dr. S. K. Magotra, PO NSS Unit Narinder Singh, Sports Officer Mr. Pawan Kumar and all the faculty members of the college.
"NSS Volunteers of the College Participated in NSS Pre-RD Camp at Chitkara University, Chandigarh Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur feels honoured and in high pedestal when its two of the NSS Volunteers namely Astik Jalotra and Suhasani of V Semester participated actively in Pre-RD North Zone Camp at Chitkara University, Chandigarh from 15th Nov to 24th Nov."
"NSS Unit of the Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur organized an activity and a lecture on "Poshan Aahar". On 14-09-2019, an activity cum awareness lecture was organised in one of the adopted village’s Govt middle school of Nagrota, Udhampur. The motive of the awareness lecture to the students was to make them understand that ‘Healthy mind resides in a healthy body’.
"NSS Unit of the Bhaskar Degree College organised "Swachhta Pakhwada"(1-15th Sep,2019) Under the initiative of “Swachhta Pakwada” commenced by the Ministry of Youth and Affairs, Govt of India, on 02-09-2019, a survey to one of the local water body of the adopted village Nagrota of Dhar Road Udhampur was conducted by the NSS Volunteers of the college, in which the volunteers conducted an awareness lecture on conservation and proper utilization of water to the local masses present over there. The main motive behind this visit was to make general masses aware of the fact that scarcity of water can lead to disastrous effects in future. "
"A ‘Ten-Days NSS Summer Camp’ was organized by the NSS Unit of the Bhaskar Degree College from 28-06-2019 to 08-07-2019, in which NSS Volunteers participated with great enthusiasm, by conducting ample of activities like door-to-door campaign, awaring local masses about solid and plastic waste management, how to decompose organic waste properly by composite pit making and also by wall painting spreading message of sanitation, cleanliness and proper hygiene."
“A guest lecture was organised in order to celebrate the 50th NSS Day by the NSS Unit of the College in its premises. The topic of the lecture was “Awareness on Drugs Abuse” in which DSP Udhampur, KPS Mr. Rohit Chadgal was the Chief Guest.”

NSS Unit of the College organised Two days Yoga Camp w.e.f. 20th June, 2019 to 21st June, 2019 held at Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur in collaboration with Bhartiya Sanasthan Udhampur
Two Days NSS Visit was conducted by the NSS Volunteers of the College on 29th and 30th April,2019 at Jagriti Oldage Home / Bal Ashram under the direction and supervision of Principal and NSS Program Officer of the college, in which NSS volunteers conducted a cleanliness drive and also distributed study essentials among them.The main motive of the visit was to make students socially aware, so that they could serve their best in the society."
NSS Unit of the college organised guest lecturer on "World Cancer Day" by Dr. Vaneet Gupta from Govt. District Hospital Udhampur.
NSS Day Celebrated at orphanage and Oldage Home Udhampur
Bhaskar Degree College was established in the year 2010. It is being run under the aegis of Bhaskar Educational trust devoted to the promotion of general, professional and technical education. The college is recognized by the Govt. of J&K and is affiliated to the University of Jammu. It is housed in a multi storeyed building comprising of 30 spacious class-rooms, audio-visual rooms, seminar hall, administrative block, computer labs, multipurpose hall, examination hall and well stocked library.
