Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur organized a debate competition on the eve of International Women’s Day on 08/03/2019. The topic of the debate competition was ‘Women Empowerment- a hoax or reality’. At the outset, the programme was commenced with the lighting of lamp by Chief Guest Ms Sandeep Kour, Sub Judge, Secretary (District Legal Services Authority) Udhampur and other dignitaries namely Ms Madhu Khajuria, Chairperson, Dr. S.K. Magotra, Principal of the college, Prof PL Suri, Principal of Bhaskar Institute of Paramedical Sciences, Dr. Anita Bali, Principal Bhartiya College of Education Udhampur, Prof BL Raina, HOD M.Ed Department, Dr Pankaj Sarswat GDC Udhampur and Dr Veena Gupta GCW Udhampur. The Principal of the college addressed the gathering with his welcome address. The chief guest also presented her views about women empowerment by giving ample of examples and also encouraged students to be the part of such empowering force. A plantation drive was also held at the outset by the dignitaries, in which they planted a plant in the college lawn area. There were eight speakers participants from different colleges of district Udhampur who spoke against and for the motion. The students presented their views with full enthusiasm and vigour. In the competition, Shazia Manhas student of Bhaskar Degree College grabbed first prize, Sonali of Govt. College for Women Udhampur grabbed second prize and Pawan Dev Singh of Bhaskar Degree College grabbed third prize. The proceedings of the programme were carried on by a student Shazia Manhas. The programme was concluded with the vote of thanks by Prof Hema Kumari.

27/02/2019: Today Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed and exchanged between Government Degree College Udhampur and Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur in the presence of their worthy principals Prof (Dr.) Nutan Rasotra and Dr. S.K. Magotra. The proceedings were commenced with the traditional lighting of lamp by Dr. Nutan Rasotra, Dr. Udhay Bhanu, Prof. Suresh Dogra, Prof. G.R Verma, Prof Kamal Kishore, Chairperson Mrs. Madhu Khajuria, MD Mr. Ashok Khajuria and Dr. S.K Magotra. Besides them Dr. Anita Bali, Principal Bhartiya College of Education Udhampur, Prof. B.L Raina, HOD M.Ed (BCE) and Prof. P.L. Suri Principal, Bhaskar Institute of Paramedical Sciences Udhampur were also present. The principal of the college Dr. S.K. Magotra formally welcomed the gathering and also mentioned the signing of memorandum as the dire need of the hour for the mutual cooperation and functioning of the two colleges. The floral welcome was presented by MD Mr. Ashok Khajuria and Dr. S.K. Magotra to Prof (Dr.) Nutan Rasotra . The reading of MOU was carried on by Prof. Hema Kumari and the proceedings of the entire programme were carried on by Prof. Pinaki Bakshi. The principal of the Government Degree College Udhampur Dr. Nuttan Rasotra called it a historical moment for both the colleges and also assured the cooperation of the colleges to enhance the academic ties between the two institutions. The programme was concluded with the vote of thanks by Prof Hema Kumari.

N.S.S. Unit of Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur organized a Civil Defence Workshop in collaboration with Civil Defence and SDRF Udhampur on 23-02-2019. At the outset Dr. S.K. Magotra, principal of the college addressed the welcome note. Sh. Shamsher Singh DSP (SDRF) was the Chief Guest in the event, besides whom Sh. Chetan Singh Charak, Inspector SDRF Udhampur, Prof. P.L. Suri Principal Bhaskar Institute of Paramedical Sciences, Mr. Shiv Kumar, member of managing committee were also present in the programme. The entire programme was focused upon the ample of self-defence techniques in which one can use in the time of crises and can help to sustain number of lives as well. The instructors Anil Sharma, Jatinder Kumar and Mohan Lal properly demonstrated the techniques and the functioning of various disasters equipments, which can help them to overcome the problems. The team was headed by Sh. S.K. Kotwal Dy. Chief Warden CD Udhampur. The programme was concluded with the vote of thanks of Prof Hema Dutt.

N.S.S. Unit of Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur organized an awareness lecture on “World Cancer Day” in its college premises. At the outset, the programme was commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest Dr. Vineet Gupta, Orthopedist and Principal of the college, Dr. S.K. Magotra. The welcome address was also presented by the principal of the college. Dr. Vineet Gupta from District Hospital Udhampur was the Chief Guest of the function, who delivered his lecture on ample of cancers, their early detections, preventions, cure and precautions related to this calamitous disease. He also awared the students about the initial stages and regular checkups related to this fatal disease. Besides Principal and the Chief Guest, Prof P.L. Suri , Principal Bhaskar Institute of Paramedical Sciences was also present in the function. The five student speakers also participated and presented their views about this deadly disease, which has taken over the lives of thousands of people. The N.S.S. Volunteers and Para-Medical students also participated in the programme very enthusiastically. The function was concluded with the vote of thanks of N.S.S. Programme Officer Ms. Pinaki Bakshi.

Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur organized Republic Day celebration very enthusiastically in all its solemnity and grandeur in its college premises. The function was commenced with the welcome address of Principal Dr. S.K. Magotra, in which he welcomed the Chief Guest Mrs. Madhu Khajuria, Managing Director Mr. Ashok Khajuria, HOD of M.Ed Department Prof. B.L. Raina, Principal Bhaskar institute of Paramedical Sciences Prof. P.L Suri, staff members and the students. Besides this the principal also addressed the students to imbibe the spirit of nationalism among them, so that they could contribute their best for the society as well as nation as a whole. The principal of the college also motivated the young minds to be positive and use their potential in the best possible way. The events including cultural program, speech, rangoli making based on patriotic theme were spell binding. The students also presented their ample of talents and mesmerized the audience. The myriad of competitions also held among the students in which they participated and also grabbed first, second and third prizes. The event was concluded with the vote of thanks of Mrs. Bindu Salaria. The whole event was anchored by Shazia Manhas.
