Red Ribbon Club of Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur organised an awareness guest lecture on the occasion of World AIDS Day on the topic “Symptoms and Protection of HIV AIDS”, under the guidance of Principal of the college Dr. S.K. Magotra. The programme inaugurated by lightning of lamp by the esteemed resource persons Dr. Amir Maqbool, Dr. Tajamul and Mr. Ajay, Lab Technician from Government Medical College, Udhampur, Principal and Vice-Principal of the college. The event was followed by the formal welcome address of the Principal of the college. The guests witnessed the enthusiastic participation of more than 100 students. Speaking on the occasion, the resource persons commended the organisers for their efforts in creating awareness on the menace of AIDS. Speaking on the occasion, the speakers focused upon the advances in HIV treatment and remarkable prevention and the biggest challenge that remains ensuring equal access to healthcare and breaking the stigma that prevents many from seeking care.
The eminent speakers also emphasised on the importance of HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and breaking the stigma and to work towards eradicating HIV/AIDS by ensuring equitable healthcare access for all. A poster-making competition was also organized on the topic “Symptoms and Protection of HIV AIDS” among students in the college premises, where around 20 students participated. 1st prize was grabbed by the student of 1st semester Mr. Naresh Singh, 2nd by Aarushi Kalra and 3rd by Tarishika of 1st semester. All the participants were awarded with the certificate of appreciation. The proceedings of the event were managed by convener of the Red Ribbon Club,s Asstt. Prof Vivek Parihar and concluded with the vote of thanks presented by Asstt Prof Pardeep Kumar.
Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur organized a seminar on “Traffic Awareness” in its college premises on 27-11-2024. The resource person during the event was Sh. Jatinder Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police Traffic Udhampur Reasi Range. The event commenced with the lighting of lamp by the esteemed chief guest, Director of the college Mr. Shiv Kumar Sharma, principal of the college Dr. S.K Magotra and vice- principal of the college Asstt. Prof. Bindu Salaria. The event was followed by the formal welcome address presented by the principal of the college. During the event, a resource person shared the valuable information among the students regarding the traffic rules and how mandatory it is to follow the same. He left no stone unturned in order to educate the students about the reason behind accidents and how to prevent the same as well. Around hundred students were present during the lecture and they also participated actively during the event. The event concluded with the memento presentation by the principal of the college to the resource person, Sh. Jatinder Singh as a token of appreciation. The whole event was managed by Asstt. Prof Hema Dutt.
26/11/2024: Constitution Day, also known as “Savidhan Diwas” is celebrated annually on 26th November to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On 26 November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, which came into effect on 26 January 1950.
Under the guidance of the Principal, Dr. (Prof.) S.K Magotra, the NSS Unit of Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur is celebrating Constitution Day on 26/11/2024. On the eve of Constitution Day Principal,Faculty and students took pledge to be responsible citizens and uphold the values of our great nation.
19/Nov/2024: Today is a prestigious moment for the Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur that college is going to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Government Degree College Udhampur. Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed and exchanged between Government Degree College Udhampur and Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur in the presence of their worthy principals Prof (Dr.) Sanjay Kumar Verma and Prof. (Dr.) S.K. Magotra. The program was witnessed by all the faculty members. The proceedings commenced with the traditional lighting of lamps by Prof (Dr.) S.K Verma, Prof. Suresh Dogra, Chairperson Mrs. Madhu Khajuria, MD Mr. Ashok Khajuria, Director Mr. Shiv Kumar Sharma and Porf. Dr. S.K Magotra. Besides them Dr. Anita Bali, Principal Bhartiya College of Education Udhampur was also present. The principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) S.K Magotra formally welcomed the gathering and mentioned the signing of memorandum as the dire need of the hour for the cooperation and functioning of the two colleges. In the welcome of Prof (Dr.) S.K Verma the bouquet was presented by the principal. S.K Magotra. The reading of MOU and the entire program was carried on by Prof. Hema Kumari. The principal of the Government Degree College Udhampur Prof (Dr.) S.K Verma called it a historical moment for both the colleges and assured the cooperation of the colleges to enhance the academic ties between the two institutions. The programme was concluded with the vote of thanks by Prof Hema Kumari.
29th Oct, 2024: The College organised Freshers’ Party 2024 with great joy and grandeur as a welcome gesture for newcomers.
In order to commemorate UN Day 2024 and NSS unit of the college organised an intra-college seminar in the college premises. The topic of the seminar was “The United nation and the sustainable development goals: Progress and challenges”. The programme commenced with the opening remarks by vice principal of the college Prof Bindu Salaria. Around eight students of first and third semester participated in the seminar and presented their different perspectives on the topic. The event was held under the patronage of principal of the college Dr S. K. Magotra and supervision of NSS programme Officer, Prof Narinder Singh. All the staff members of the college were also present during the event. The event concluded with the vote of thanks presented by NSS programme officer of the college Prof Narinder Singh. Certificates were also distributed among the winners and participants. First position was secured by student of 1st semester Ms Manvi Rajwal, second by Mr Naresh and 3rd by Anandita of 3rd semester. The proceedings of the whole event was managed by student of Vth semester Ms Bubli Jan.
Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur celebrated “Hindi Diwas” with great vehemence and zeal by organising Inter-College Debate Competition on the topic “New Education Policy and Skill Development”. The programme commenced with the lighting of lamp by the esteemed dignitaries including principal of the college Dr. S.K. Magotra, chief guest Dr. Bharat Bhushan Sharma, secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Language Propagation Committee, Dr. Amita Gupta, Associate Professor Jammu Central University, Samba, Prof. Sanjay Singh, Dept of English from MAM College, Jammu and Vice-Principal of the college Prof Bindu Salaria. The formal welcome address was presented by the principal of the college. Following the event, Asstt. Prof. Bindu Salaria shared her valuable views on the importance of Hindi Language and highlighted the need to promote Hindi among the masses. During the event, total nine contestants participated from different colleges and put forth their notions.
Prof. Sanjay Singh, Asstt. Prof. Versha Sharma and Asstt. Prof. Pinaki Bakshi were the judge of the event. Students from different colleges participated in a debate competition organized by the Department of Hindi of the college. The eminent dignitaries also provided their valuable insights regarding skill development of the students under NEP 2020. The first prize was grabbed by Baljeet Singh from Govt. Degree College Boys Udhampur, the second prize was secured by Pallavi Thakur from Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur, and the third prize was grabbed by Parshotam of Govt. Degree College Boys Udhampur. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks presented by Prof. Bindu Salaria.
Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur organised a Two- Days Induction Program for the fresher students of semester-1st for the session 2024-25. At the outset, the event commenced with the lighting of lamps followed by Saraswati Vandana. The dignitaries presented in the event were: Mrs Madhu Khajuria, chairperson of the college, managing director Mr Ashok Khajuria, director of the college, Mr Shiv Kumar, principal Dr SK Magotra, vice principal, Professor Bindu Salaria and all the faculty members. The virtual tour of the college was displayed to the students during the event. An Alumni student of the college Advocate Pawan Dev Singh was also invited during the event to share his valuable experience about the college. Ample of cultural performances were also performed by the senior students of the college. On the second day of the induction program an insightful and informative session on New Education Policy was presented by Professor Narinder Singh. Freshers also participated during the induction program. The program was compiled with the vote of thanks by Prof Hema Dutt and the proceedings of the whole program were managed by Prof Pinaki Bakshi.
Students of semester 3rd and 5th of Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur organised an overwhelming celebration on Teachers Day with great fervour and honour in order to express their gratitude and recognition for their teachers to acknowledge their tireless efforts and dedication towards shaping young minds.

Bhartiya Group of Colleges, Udhampur celebrated 78th Independence Day on 15th August 2024.
The celebration began with flag hoisting by Mrs. Madhu Khajuria, Chairperson of Bhartiya
Group of Colleges and “Rashtriya Gaan”. At the outset, Asstt Professor Bindu Salaria briefed
about the real significance behind the celebration of Independence Day. The event was followed
by the speech of Asstt Prof Pinaki Bakshi while focusing on the theme ‘Viksit Bharat’. Principal
of the college, Dr. S.K Magotra, also addressed the students and faculty members regarding the
freedom struggle and contribution of youth for the nation. He threw light on the significance of
this day and remembered the sacrifices of our freedom fighters. M.D of the college Mr. Ashok
Khajuria, also addressed the students and faculty members with his encouraging words and
emphasized on the importance of contribution to be made by youth making India as global
leader. The ongoing celebration was filled with colorful and vibrant cultural performances by the
students of the colleges. The group dance performances were presented by the students of the
college. The students of Bhartiya Group of Colleges who participated in different activities on
Independence Day like painting, quiz competition were also awarded with prizes as a token of
appreciation by the Principal and Management of the College. Management and Principal of the
college honored the pass out with trophy who secured positions at university level, Simran
Rajput, B.Com secured 1 st position, Tanishka Mahajan, B.Com secured 3 rd position and Tannvi
Rajwal, B.Sc. secured 2 nd position for the academic session 2023-24. The whole event was
hosted by Asstt Professor Heema Dutt and managed by Physical Director Mr. Pawan Sharma.
BDC, Udhampur on 13 August 2024, organised a competition on various activities such as Quiz Competition, Painting Competition and Cultural Competition on the eve of Independence Day under the theme Indian Freedom Struggle.
Students of the college from the Department of English semester 5th successfully completed their 15 days Internship Program (08-07-2024 to 24-07-2024) as a part of their syllabi at The State Times Sub-Office Udhampur under the esteemed guidance of the principal of the college Dr. S.K Magotra and supervision of the Internship committee of the college. On the completion, students got certified for completing the internship program and also presented the souvenir along Asstt Prof Kapil Sharma and Asstt Prof Mohan Singh to the State Times Senior Correspondent Mr. Pardeep Bakshi.
Fourteen Students of the college from the Department of Political Science semester 5th successfully completed their 15 days Internship Program (08-07-2024 to 22-07-2024) as a part of their syllabi at District Court Complex Udhampur under the esteemed guidance of the principal of the college Dr. S.K Magotra and supervision of the Internship committee of the college.
20th July, 2024: Students of Bhaskar Degree college, Udhampur Semester Vth visited Child care institution (palaash) battal ballian road as the part of their internship program where they interacted with the person working in CCI and get to know the working of such centres for the welfare of the children’s who due to some reasons are away from the home.
Twenty students of Semester-V of Bhaskar Degree College, Udhampur under FYUP undergoes for the 15 days internship program w.e.f 18 July to 31 July,2024 with Social welfare as the part of Syllabus given by University of Jammu . On the first day ,the students attended the orientation program under the supervision of Ms. Kanika Gupta (JKAS) , District Social Welfare Officer ,Udhampur where she briefed the students about the different activities and visits that he has to conduct in 15 days internship program.
Asst.Prof. Narinder Singh NSS programme officer of the college attended two day NSS orientation workshop organised by NSS office University of Jammu on 10th and 11th June 2024.
Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur organised Digi-Talent Competition “Beyond the Classroom, Campus and Me” on 07-06-2024 inorder to extract best out of our talented students and channelize their skills and creativity. The event was divided into three content creation categories- Reels, Videos and Vlogs. The dignitaries present during the event were:- Mrs Madhu Khajuria, chairperson of the college, Mr Ashok Khajuria, MD of the college, Dr Anita Bali, principal Bhartiya College of Education Udhampur, Dr Akriti Sharma from M.Ed dept, incharge principal Asstt Prof Bindu Salaria and staff members. The purpose behind the event was to analyse the best Digi- Talent and afterwards to reward them with cash prizes. In that context, the assigned team for the event got ample videos, vlogs and reels submitted, out of which few were selected. The event was conducted under the supervision of an assigned team including Asstt Prof Silky Gupta, Asstt Prof Pinaki Bakshi, Asstt Prof Kapil Sharma & Asstt Prof Rakesh Thakur.
05/06/2024: Eco- Warrior club of Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur in collaboration with NSS Unit of the college celebrated World Environment Day on the theme “Land Restoration Combating Desertification and Drought Resilience” in the college campus. The students also participated in the event by contributing water feeders for the birds, conveying the message of conserving diversity. The event was conducted under the guidance of principal incharge Asstt Prof Bindu Salaria and supervision of Asstt Prof Mohan Singh, convener of eco- warrior club and Asstt Prof Narinder Singh, NSS PO.
Bhaskar Degree College, Udhampur celebrated Freshers cum Farewell party for both the fresher students as well as to be pass out students very enthusiastically in all its solemnity and grandeur on 22nd April 2024. All the staff members of college and the students were present in the occasion.
The Celebration was held in the presence of the Chairperson of Bhartiya Group of Colleges, Mrs. Madhu Khajuria, Principal of Bhartiya College of Education Udhampur , Dr. Anita Bali, Asst Prof Bindu Salaria, principal incharge BDC, Mr Rishi Padha, member of managing committee and faculty members of the college. The programme was commenced with the mesmerising performance by the students of the college.It was further carried with the inaugural and welcome speech by principal incharge in which she addressed the students and taught them about the future endeavours and also wish them luck for their future.
The programme was further followed by the distribution of titles and vibrant dance and singing performances by the students . Judges for the event were: Asst Prof Pinaki Bakshi, Asst Prof Vijeta Kumari and Asst Prof Narinder Singh who chose Ms. Fresher- Vishali, Mr. Fresher- Shahid Salaria , Mr. Bhaskar- Karan Gupta and Ms. Bhaskar- Taniya Khajuria through ramp walk and questioning round. The event was concluded with the vote of thanks by Bubli Jan, student of 4th semester.
14/02/2024: Basant Panchami is the time that marks the preparation for the arrival of spring.
Goddess Saraswati is worshipped during this auspicious day and symbolises as the goddess of knowledge, language, music, arts, learning, speech, and wisdom.
Basant Panchami celebrations bring positive vibes, happiness, peace, prosperity
around. To mark this propitious day, like every year, festival of Basant Panchami was celebrated in the Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur on 14 th February, 2024 in its college premises. The programme was commenced with the lighting of the lamp by chairperson of the college, Mrs Madhu Khajuria, Dr. S.K. Magotra, principal of
the college, Dr. Anita Bali, principal BCE, Udhampur, and Vice- Principal Prof
Bindu Salaria. The staff and students were also the part of the occasion. The event was followed by the address of the principal on the significance of this auspicious day and guided the students to do their best in their lives. Students contributed their best to make this event a gala one by performing ample of outstanding dance and
song performances in dedication to Maa Saraswati. Atmosphere of devotion and reverence to Maa Saraswati continued throughout the day. The programme was anchored by the students of 2nd semester Anandita and Shahid.
26/01/2024: Bhartiya Group of Colleges celebrated Republic Day 2024
Bhartiya Group of Colleges Udhampur viz Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur and Bhartiya
College of Education Udhampur celebrated India’s 75 th Republic Day very enthusiastically in all
its solemnity and grandeur on 26 th January 2024 in the college premises. All the staff members
and students were present to celebrate the event.
The national flag was unfurled by the chairperson of the college Mrs. Madhu Khajuria followed
by the National Anthem “Jan Gan Man” sung by a group of students. The event was followed by the
passing of parade by the students of BDC and BCE. Besides her, other dignitaries were also
present in the ceremony including Mr. Ashok Khajuria M.D of Bhartiya Group of Colleges, Dr
SK Magotra, principal BDC Udhampur, Dr. Anita Bali, principal of Bhartiya College of
Education Udhampur, members of managing committee and other faculty members. The worthy
principal of BDC Udhampur addressed the gathering in which he talked about the formation of
our constitution, its importance and achievements of the institution. The event was followed with
the speech of MD of Bhartiya Group of Institutions, in his address; he talked about the
progression of our country in all areas and also motivated the young generation to contribute
their best in nation building. Prof. Bindu Salaria also expressed her views regarding the
republic day celebrations and recited a beautiful poem composed by her. Students of Bhartiya
Groups of Colleges performed ample cultural activities including dancing and singing. The
star performers and meritorious students in academics of both the colleges were also awarded
with memento as a token of appreciation by the dignitaries. Students of B.A.B.Ed integrated
program secured first position in parade, second position grabbed by B.Ed students and 3 rd
position was secured by students of BDC. The whole event was managed by Physical Director
Mr. Pawan Sharma, Prof. Vikas Sharma, Heath and Physical Education and Prof. Hema Dutt.

It is indeed a great pleasure to announce the victory of Ansh Pawar B.A semester Ist of Bhaskar Degree College, Udhampur. On 20th November , 2023, in *Display your Talent* organised by University of Jammu, Ansh Pawar stood 3rd in *Western Vocal Music* and 3rd position in *Instrumental Music* . He brought laurels to his college and family. He performed with great courage and enthusiasm. The Principal of the college Dr. SK Magotra appreciated the efforts of Ansh and motivated him. The Music Department HOD Prof. Pooja Devi also appreciated his efforts by celebrating his victory. His innocent voice touched the hearts and left all speechless.

One participant from Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur named Gourav Goswami semester 5th shared his views on Truth and Non Violence. Our Principal Dr. SK Magotra marked his presence as a Guest and Honour and jury member in the Declamation contest.
Dated 14/09/2023: Hindi Diwas Celebration
To celebrate the India adopted Hindi as its Official language “Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur observed “Hindi Diwas” today with great fervor and enthusiasm. To draw attention to the importance of Hindi “Matra Bhasha” students from different colleges participated in debate competitions organized by the Department of Hindi, Bhaskar Degree College in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Language Propagation Committee. Dr. Bharat Bhushan Sharma was the organizer and the Chief Guest was eminent Dogri writer Padmashri Retd. Prof. Sh.Shiv Dutt Nirmohi Ji. Hindi Bhasha Diwas commenced with the traditional ceremony of lightening of lamps. Dr. Pankaj Sharma GDC Boys Udhampur, Dr. Vijay Verma and Prof. Rakesh Thakur were the judges of the event.
The Welcome Address was given by the Dr. S.K Magotra Principal, Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur. In the commencement of the Inter College Debate Competition, Prof. Bindu Salaria sheds light on the importance of Hindi Language and highlights the need to promote Hindi Bhasha among the students. In Inter College Debate Competition, total eight contestants participated from five different colleges and presented their views on the topic “उच्च शिक्षा में वैज्ञानिक और तकनीकी शिक्षा का मध्यम हिंदी”
The first prize was grabbed by Rikhil Goswami from Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur, the second prize was given to Diksha Nirdesh from Bhartiya College of Education Udhampur, the third prize was grabbed by Jyoti Devi of Bhartiya College of Education Udhampur, and consolation prize was secured by Ankush Kalotra from GDC Ramnager. At last the Vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Bindu Salaria.
9th Sept, 2023: Students of Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur participated in One- Day blood donation camp held at GMC Udhampur organised by District Hospital Udhampur.
5th Sept, 2023 : Teachers and educators nourish and prepare students for their future as they are the real icons of knowledge and wisdom. Thus, to acknowledge and celebrate the year’s efforts of the teachers, the students and the Principal of Bhaskar Degree College, Udhampur held a grand ceremony on Teacher’s Day i.e., September 5, 2023, with great enthusiasm and ardency. The teacher's day 2023 theme is “Teachers at the heart of education recovery”.
The programme was hosted, organized, and carried out by the students single handedly. On this occasion the principal of the college, Dr. S.K Magotra congratulated all the teachers for acquainting students with such great values and education and also admitted that the future of the country is in the hands of the teachers and only they can shape it. Teachers are the inspiration of the students, so a good teacher should always be self-motivated and should be the medium to help the students attain their goals. With this, he asked the students to applaud the teachers for their contribution, dedication, and assiduousness.
26/08/2023: Bhaskar Degree College organised a one day Awareness session on Career guidance in collaboration with District Employment and Counseling Centre, Udhampur . In this session Career Counseling Officer, Mr. Abhishek and Mr. Mudassar both guided the students regarding the various government schemes and sensitized the students about the employment problems and their solutions in getting jobs in future.

The next group dance performance was presented by Kusum and group of B.A./B.Ed from Bhartiya College of Education, Udhampur. The third group dance performance was presented by Taniya and group from Bhaskar Degree College. The students of Bhartiya Group of Colleges who participated in different activities were awarded with prizes as a token of appreciation by the Principal and Management of the College. BDC NSS Unit of girls secured first position in parade, BCE B. Ed. grabbed second position and BDC Boys group, B.A./B. Ed Integrated stood 3rd in the parade. The whole event was hosted by Professor Heema Dutt. The success of the event was happened in the presence of Principal Dr. S.K Magotra of Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur, Dr. Anita Bali Principal of Bhartiya College of Education Udhampur, the Management, faculty members and students of the college.
BDC Udhampur celebrated International Yoga Day 2023: Theme of Yoga Day is 'Yoga For Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' This year the theme of Yoga Day is 'Yoga For Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' i.e. Yoga for the welfare of all in the form of 'One World-One Family'. It emphasises the spirit of Yoga, which unites and takes everyone along.

Eco Club of Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur organised a One Day Awareness Camp in collaboration with SDRF where Advocate Swatantra Dev Kotwal became aware about the disaster we are facing. After that, the stage was managed by Mr. Karanveer Singh (Selection Grade Constable) and his team demonstrated the various emergency techniques that can be performed to save an injured person. He also made the students learn the mechanism of CPR which the students can perform at the time of emergency. The whole event was organised under the guidance of Dr. S.K.Magotra, Principal of the college. The whole event was hosted by Prof. Hema Dutt and the program was concluded with the vote of thanks by Prof.Mohan Singh , Department of EVS.

Bhartiya Group of Colleges Udhampur viz Bhaskar Degree College and Bhartiya College of Education celebrated India’s 74th Republic Day very enthusiastically in all its solemnity and grandeur in its own premises. All the staff members and students were present to celebrate the event.
The flag was unfurled by the chairperson of the college Mrs. Madhu Khajuria. Besides her, other dignitaries were also present in the ceremony including Mr. Ashok Khajuria M.D of Bhartiya Group of Colleges, Dr SK Magotra, principal of Bhaskar Degree College, Dr. Anita Bali, principal of Bhartiya College of Education Udhampur Prof. Bindu Salaria, Prof. Hema Dutt, Prof. Vijeta, and Mr. Rishi, member of the management committee and other faculty members. The programme commenced with the inaugural speech of Prof. Bindu Salaria. In which she talked about the nation leaders and new education policy. Dr. S.K. Magotra, principal of Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur also addressed students and faculty members in which he talked about the formation of our constitution, its importance and achievements of the institution. The event was followed with the speech of Mr. Ashok Khajuria, in which he addressed the gathering and also motivated the young generation to contribute their best in the society.
All the students and staff were assembled in the college ground at 9:55 am. Meanwhile the national flag was unfurled followed by the National Anthem “Jan Gan Man” sung by a group of students. Students of Bhartiya Groups of Colleges performed ample of cultural activities including dancing and singing. The event was concluded with the vote of thanks by Prof. Hema Dutt. The star performers in academics of the college were also awarded with memento and cash prize. The names of the students who received awards were Anjli (3rd position), Amir Ghani (5th position) at university level from BA, Babita Kumari (5th position) and Samarika Katoch (9th position) in B.com .The whole event was managed by Physical Director Mr. Pawan Sharma and Prof. Hema Dutt.

Bhaskar Degree College, Udhampur organized the Inter College Symposium on the theme “Role and Importance of Indian Languages in NEP 2020”. The purpose of the symposium was to sensitize the students regarding the importance of our Indian languages such as Hindi, Urdu, Dogri etc. New Education Policy 2020 launched with the perspective to make our education system more progressive and holistic. The programme started with the lighting of traditional lamps with the prayer of goddess Saraswati followed by the welcome address of Dr. SK Magotra, principal of the college. After the welcome address, vice Principal Prof. Bindu Salaria threw light on the importance and significance of Indian languages in NEP 2020. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Dr. Bharat Bhushan Sharma, an eminent writer and Director of Jammu and Kashmir Rashtrabhasha Prachar Samiti. He also addressed the audience with his insights and sensitized the audience regarding the importance of regional languages in promoting our new education system. The programme was anchored by Prof. Hema Dutt. In total 08 students from different colleges attended the symposium. Participants of the symposium expressed their concern over the various issues and highlighted the importance of Indian as well as regional languages in strengthening the new education system and ensuring that all gaps in the system are bridged. The judges of the event were Prof. Pooja Devi, Prof. Varsha Sharma, and Prof. Bindu Salaria. Out of eight participants Baljeet Singh stood first, Rikhil Goswami secured second position, third position was secured by Ritu Devi and consolation prize was bagged by Janvi Singh. Among those present on the occasion were Principal Bhaskar Degree College S K Magotra, MD Bhartiya Group of Institutions Ashok Khajuria, and teaching faculty. The event concluded with the colourful traditional dance performance and distribution of prizes. The vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Hema Dutt.

Indian Constitution nurtures the aspirations of its citizens, and is a true living Constitution in as much as it gives the widest possible amplitude for the realization of both individual liberties and desires and at the same time enforces the need for collective growth and development.
The Quiz Competition was organised in the Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur by the NSS Unit of the college to celebrate the Constitution Day to create awareness amongst the students about the Constitution and its special features, particularly Fundamental Duties, as enshrined in the Constitution. The competition commenced with the reading of the preamble of Indian Constitution. Total five teams i.e. A,B,C,D and E participated in the quiz competition from B.A/B.Com/B.Sc. semester 1st, 3rd and 5th. Quiz competition consisted of five rounds and in each round total 25 questions were asked to the all five teams. Team B from Science Stream stood first position and Team C from Arts stream was runner up. At last prizes were given to the winning team and certificates also given to all the participants.

As part of National Celebration of the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, a function was organized by Bhaskar Degree College, Udhampur at college premises. Principal of the college Dr. S.K. Magotra and Vice Principal Prof. Bindu Salaria, faculty members and all the students of the college attended the function. Mobile display unit starting from Leh to Delhi reached Udhampur today. They conducted this mobile exhibition to allow maximum students to benefit from this mobile exhibition which is part of the National Project.
A documentary on the life and achievements of Shri Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was screened at the occasion, besides literature was also displayed. On the occasion, the representative of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India threw light on the history of the leader. He said it is a campaign of the Ministry of Culture which aims to disseminate awareness about the achievements of Netaji. Students also participated in the question answer session with special focus on the life of Netaji. The Representative of the Ministry of Culture distributed gifts among the college children such as pens, flags, badges and umbrellas for giving the right answer to the questions as a reward.

The celebration of Deepawali, 'The festival of light' came alive at Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur, with lightening of lamp by principal of college, Dr. S.K Magotra, vice-principal Prof. Bindu Salaria, coordinator Prof. Hema Dutt, HOD Commerce Department Prof. Vijeta and HOD Urdu Prof. Joginder Singh on the 22nd of October 2022 when the whole College wore a festive look with Diyas and lanterns and the reception hall in bright colors. The rangoli done by students added the perfect setting to the festivity. While celebrating Deepawali in college, the students led the way in spreading the message of celebrating safe and pollution free Eco-friendly Deepawali. To mark the Diwali celebrations, a Rangoli making was organized on the 22 October, 2022 in the premises of College. Rangoli as we know is an art form in India in which patterns are created on the floor in living rooms or courtyards using materials such as coloured rice, dry flour, and colored sand or flower petals. The purpose of Rangoli is decoration, and it is thought to bring good luck. The principal of the college appreciated the staff and the students for their enthusiasm and exhibiting their creative abilities in the competition. The college also organized Diya decoration, dance, song and a food stall was also arranged by the students. All the students and teachers of our college were present in Indian traditional dress. The Principal addressed the gathering and brought out the essence of the festival – a celebration of life and goodness. Students talked about the significance of the festival – how good always conquered evil and also about why and how Deepawali is celebrated across India. Besides sensitizing students to the ill-effects of crackers, they also shared the guidelines on being safe while bursting them. The assembly concluded with the worthy Principal of college giving away the message of a clean, safe and a bright Deepawali.

The team of State Bank of India visited our college on 21 Oct,2022. The programme was organised in the Multi-purpose hall and all the students and faculty members were present. The branch Manager of SBI Mr. Harvinder Singh aware the students regarding the Zero Balance Account Opening and bank fraud. The awareness programme was very insightful and students had one to one interaction with team members of SBI.

Bhaskar Degree College, Udhampur today celebrated National Service Scheme (NSS) Foundation Day with enthusiasm and fervor. The event commenced with the lighting of lamp by DDC Member Panchari Mongri, Jasvir Singh, principal of college Dr. S.K. Magotra, Ashok Khajuria, MD, Bhartiya Group of Institutions, Vice Principal Prof. Bindu Salaria, Prof. Vijeta Kumari, Prof. Narinder Singh, Prof. Savita Sambyal and Prof. Hema Dutt. On the occasion a formal welcome address was given by principal of the college, Dr. S.K Magotra and highlighted the importance of selfless service and appealed to the volunteers for engaging themselves in constructive social work and to enrich their personality. Prof. Narinder Singh PO NSS appraised the audience about history of NSS and appealed to the volunteers to relate their learning and experiences towards finding solutions to the problems. Jasvir Singh, DDC member, Panchari Udhampur was the chief guest on the occasion. He addressed the audience and appreciated the performances presented by the college students and encouraged the role of volunteers to continue the good work for the betterment of the college and society in general. All faculty members and students were present to make the occasion graceful. The event was conducted under the supervision of NSS PO Prof. Narinder Singh and hosted by Prof. Hema Dutt. The occasion was filled with vibrant performances of college students. The cultural programs staged including songs, Dogri Folk dance and Punjabi Folk dance performances. The event was concluded with the vote of thanks speech by Prof Narinder Singh.
Five days yoga camp was organised in the Bhaskar Degree College, Udhampur from 13TH to 17TH September at college playground from 9:00 Am to 10:00 AM daily. NSS Unit of the college took the initiative to organize yoga camp for all the students in addition to other sports activities. This camp was made mandatory for all the students. The students participated with zeal and enthusiasm and made the 5 day yoga camp successful in presence of Principal of the college, Dr. S. K. Magotra, PO NSS Unit Narinder Singh, Sports Officer Mr. Pawan Kumar and all the faculty members of the college. Yoga was practiced by the students under the guidance of sports officer Pawan Kumar. He taught the significance and importance of yoga in daily life while instructing the students regarding the various yoga asanas. The last day of the yoga camp was concluded with the yoga asanas performed by students in presence of all the staff members. The college Principal, Dr S. K. Magotra extended his warm greetings on this day and stated that yoga is a part of our ancient Indian heritage and yoga is a holistic approach to health and well-being, balancing our mind, body and soul. The concluding speech was delivered by PO Narinder Singh and Mr. Pawan Kumar, sports officer while emphasizing on the yoga practice and making it an essential part of life.

Celebration of 75th Independence Day!
Bhaskar Degree College, Udhampur celebrated Independence Day on 15th August 2022. The celebration began with Flag hoisting by Mrs. Madhu Khajuria, Chairperson of Bhartiya Group of Institution and “Rashtriya Gaan”. At the outset, the Principal of the college, Dr. S.K Magotra, addressed the students and faculty members. He thrown light on the significance of this day and remembered the sacrifices of our freedom fighters. Professor Bindu Salaria also briefed about the real significance behind the celebration of Independence Day. The ongoing celebration was filled with colorful and vibrant cultural performances of the students. The first singing performance was presented by Jeremy Mark Sandhu and his group from Semester 6th Bhaskar Degree College, Udhampur. The next group dance performance was presented by Supali and group of B.Ed from Bhartiya College of Education, Udhampur. The third group dance performance was presented by Shipalika and group from Bhaskar Degree College. Various other vibrant performances such as Group Song by Tarsem and group from Bhartiya College of Education, Udhampur group dance by Sakshita and group from B.A/B. Ed Integrated, Bhartiya College of Education, solo song by Vishav and Sunil from B.A/B.Ed Integrated and the last solo dance performance was given by Khushi from Bhaskar Degree College. A 4-days Geography cum Educational Tour to Dalhousie has been organized by Bhaskar Degree College, Udhampur, on June 20, 2022, Mr. Ashok Khajuria, the Managing Director of Bhartiya Group of Education, flagged off the tour at 9 am and said all the best to the students and teachers.
During the 4 days interstate tour of Geography from 20 June to 23 June. The college organised a socioeconomic survey for the Students of BA sem 4 of the local market of Chamba and Dalhousie in Himachal Pradesh on 22 June 2022. The purpose behind the survey is to know about their socioeconomic status like level of education, degree of financial security etc and after the completion of survey students also visited Bhuri Singh Museum.
World bicycle day as the part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav
The department of youth services and sports UT J and K celebrates world bicycle day by organising bicycle rally to enhance spirit of Brotherhood and nationalism and also to solve the issue of global warming and unhealthy lifestyle .The rally was organised on 7th June 2022 at 7:30 a.m. in which various students from Bhaskar degree college Udhampur participated. The route of the rally was from DC office to Mini Stadium ,Udhampur.
College organised Inter-College Symposium on WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY -4th June, 2022. The event was started by blessings of the Goddess of Sarswati with the lightening of lamps. Professor Heema Dutt and Professor Sakshi Sharma remain hosts for the whole event. The Principal, Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur graced the event by his welcome speech and warm welcome to the chief guest Dr. Udhay Bhanu. Principal of GDC Ramnagar. Professor Bindu Salria threw light on the importance of World Environment Day, and she also briefly explained why we celebrated World Environment Day. Professor Sakshi Sharma introduced the rules of symposium to the participants who have come from different colleges of Udhampur province. One by one all participants shared their views on the given topic World Environment Day 2022.
A skit was presented by Mohd Arman and his team. Skit showcase the various issues and prevention related to the environment. Participants also visualised the ill effects of deformation and global warming. The play concluded with the note that we should plant more and more trees and also reduce the emission of fossil fuels in order to save the environment.
The chief guest of the event shared his views on World Environment Day. His valuable words explained the importance of Trees. He quoted that Trees are worshiped by Indians and Trees must be worshipped by each and every individual and planting more and more trees should be our priority. He encouraged students to motivate people to grow more and more trees.
In followed to the event lastly, prize distribution celebration held in the presence of chief guest Dr Udhay Bhanu, Principal of Government Degree College Ramnagar. Worthy principal, BDC Dr. S.K has given memento to the respected organiser faculty and guests of the event.

An Orientation cum placement drive was organized by Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur in the college premises in collaboration with SBI Life, Udhampur on 25-05-2022. The drive was organized under the esteem guidance of principal of the college Dr. S.K. Magotra.The event commenced with the welcome address by Prof Pooja Rani. The presentation on SBI life placement drive was presented by the senior territory officer Mr. Onkar Singh and branch manager, Mr. Rakesh Verma. The purpose of the drive was to make students aware of this career opportunity, so that they can use the opportunity for their future endeavours. Ample of students were present in the drive. Among the students, staff was also present. The vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Vijeta Kumari.
Students of Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur participated in Inter College one day seminar and Poster Making Competition which was held at Government College for Women, Udhampur. The topic of the seminar was "Role of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in Women Empowerment" whereas the topic of the poster making competition was "The Life and Contribution Of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar". The chief Resource Person of the event was Prof. Kali Dass. Rikhil Goswami of B.A. semester 1, got fourth position in the seminar and Gourav Goswami of B.A. semester-1, got second position in poster making competition.
Eco-club in collaboration with NSS unit of Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur organized plantation drive on 29th March, 2022 in the college campus. The drive was commenced with the plantation of Arjun tree by principal of the college Dr. S.K. Magotra, Mr. Mahesh Abrol, Range Officer Udhampur, Mr. Rajnish Sharma, block officer, Naresh Sharma, block officer, Rajeev Gupta, members of eco-club, Prof. Bindu Salaria and other staff members. N.S.S. volunteers of the college also participated in this plantation drive by planting the plants. Around 30 plants were planted inside and outside the college campus. The drive was carried on in order to make the campus more eco-friendly and to aware the students about the importance of clean and green environment. The drive was conducted under the esteem guidance of principal of the college and was supervised by eco- club convener Prof. Mohan Singh and N.S.S. programme officer Prof. Pinaki Bakshi.

With deep anguish and sorrow, Principle ,staff and Students of Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur place on record the sad untimely demise of Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat and his wife along with eleven defence personals in a tragic accident on8th Dec, 2021.

The program commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the chief guest Smt Rajni Sharma sub-judge, secretary district legal services authority, principal of the college Dr. SK Magotra, Advocate Shivani Gupta and Advocate Sanjeev Kumar. The formal welcome address was presented by Principal of the college Dr. S. K. Magotra. Prof. Hema Dutt presented the speech on empowerment of women at the outset. Akshita Sharma student of the College of semester 5th also presented her views on empowerment of women with great enthusiasm. Later on the further proceedings of the event were carried on by the co-host Prof. Sakshi Jamwal. After that Adv Shivani Gupta, Adv Sanjeev Kumar and Advo Vijay laxmi also presented their point of views on the above mentioned topic empowerment of women in which they awarded the gathering about the justice at door steps and how one can become aware of our legal rights. Chief Guest of the event Smt. Rajni Sharma sub judge secretary also concluded the speech with her motivational and inspiring words. She motivated the whole of the gathering present over there to spread awareness among the masses regarding legal rights and how it can protect females as well as males’ rights. The Department of Political Science in collaboration with NSS Unit of the college organised a Quiz Competition on 26th of Nov, 2021 in the college premises in order to celebrate " Constitution Day".
Bhaskar Degree College, Udhampur celebrated the Freshers cum Farewell party for both the fresher students and the pass out students very enthusiastically in all its solemnity and grandeur on 23rd November 2021. All the staff members of Bhaskar Degree College and the students were present to enable the new students to become useful and integrated members of the team and wishing good luck to the passing students. The programme was performed by strictly following the COVID-19 protocols.
This Celebration was held in the presence of the Chairperson of Bhartiya Group of Colleges, Mrs. Madhu Khajuria, Principal of Bhartiya Group of Colleges, Dr. Anita Bali and Principal of Bhaskar Degree College, Udhampur, Dr. S.K Magotra. Besides them, other dignitaries were also present in the ceremony including other members of the management committee. Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur organised a Rangoli making on the Eve of Deepawali -02 Nov, 2021. Many students of college participated in this competition and showed their talents by making beautiful Rangolis. Bhupinder and his group stood first in the competition followed by Sonali and group by securing second position and third position shared by Pranav and group and Sonia and group.

Bhartiya Group of Colleges celebrates India’s 75th Independence Day in its campus To inculcate the awareness about the harmful effects of Tobacco, Bhaskar Degree College, Udhampur under the guidelines of University Grant Commission organise pledge taking ceremony along with the students on World No Tobacco Day with the theme 'Commit to Quit' on 31st May, 2021. 30 March, 2021: Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur organized an inter-college debate competition on the topic “Is Indian woman fully empowered in the patriarchal society?” in collaboration with ICDS Udhampur under the flagship programme “Beti bachao beti padao” in the college premises. Besides them, co-hosts of the event Mr. Yashpaul Sharma CDPO, ICDS Udhampur and Mr. Sanjeev Sharma CDPO, ICDS Ghordi and managing director of the college Mr. Ashok Khajuria was also present. The further proceedings were carried on by Prof. Bindu Salaria, in which she threw light upon the dire need of women empowerment in our society. The principal of the college addressed the gathering and the participants with his welcome speech. Ample of colleges had participated in the debate competition including GDC Udhampur, GDC Ramnagar, and Bhartiya College of education Udhampur. Participants participated with full zeal and enthusiasm and presented their views in front of all by speaking against and in the favor of the motion. The event was judged by the jury panel which included: -Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Prof. Joginder Singh and Prof. Pinaki Bakshi. The first prize was grabbed by Akshita Sharma of BDC Udhampur, second by Charvi Kalsotra of GDC Udhampur and third by Unzila Jan of BDC Udhampur. All the rest participants were felicitated with consolation prizes and certificates of participation. The entire programme was compered by students of B.A. Sem III Akshita Sharma and co-ordinated by Prof. Hema Dutt.

Bhaskar Degree College, Udhampur celebrated India’s 72nd Republic Day very enthusiastically in all its solemnity and grandeur on 26 January 2021. All the staff members of Bhaskar degree College Udhampur and Bhartiya College of Education Udhampur and students were present in large number to salute the mother land and tri colour of the nation.
The flag was unfurled by the Chief Guest Managing Director of the college, Mr. Ashok Khajuria. Besides him, other dignitaries were also present in the ceremony including Dr SK Magotra, Principal of Bhaskar Degree College and other members of the management committee. The programme was commenced with the inaugural speech of Mr Ashok Khajuria, in which he addressed the gathering and also advised the students to re-discover of our history especially freedom fighters and also taught them to respect our constitution.
All the students and staff were assembled in the college ground at 9:55 am. Meanwhile the national flag was unfurled followed by National Anthem “Jan Gan Man” sung by a group of students. The whole event was compered by Prof Hema Kumari. Sports Festival at Govt. Degree College Udhampur
Udhampur Sports Cluster organized a sports fest at Govt. Degree College Udhampur w.e.f. 12/02/2020 to 15/02/2020. No. of teams from Distt Udhampur and Reasi participated in the events. Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur students also participated in fest in the field of Cricket, Tug of War, table Tennis, kabaddi, Badminton and Volleyball. The Chief Guest on the inaugural day was Sh. Naveen Chowdary Principal Secretary Dept. of Education and Technical Education and asked all the players to play up with the spirit of sports and victory and defeat do not matter much. Educational Tour in Academic Session 2019-20
Organizing Educational Tour is one of the healthy practices of our College. In this context an Educational Tour was organized by Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur w.e.f. 24th Feb, 2020 to 1st March, 2020. 35 students (boys/girls) accompanied by three staff members en-route the tour visiting Delhi, Jaipur, Ajmer Shraiff, Pushkar and back. Students and staff enjoyed the tour with great enthusiasm and jovial feelings along with educational historical exposure. The Tour has put an indelible mark in the minds of young hearts which will put them on pedestals of great synergy and overall development of their personality. Bhaskar Degree College was established in the year 2010. It is being run under the aegis of Bhaskar Educational trust devoted to the promotion of general, professional and technical education. The college is recognized by the Govt. of J&K and is affiliated to the University of Jammu. It is housed in a multi storeyed building comprising of 30 spacious class-rooms, audio-visual rooms, seminar hall, administrative block, computer labs, multipurpose hall, examination hall and well stocked library.
